A 70-year-old man who was listed as “dead” in local government records is attempting to show authorities that he is still alive.

Om Prakash, a resident of Fatehpur hamlet in Tilhar, claimed he has been going from one official to another for the past year to demonstrate his existence and that he has also been refused an old-age pension.

“I was unable to even withdraw money from the bank since I am listed as deceased in government documents. Due to a lack of funds, I was unable to water my cane crop, which has had an impact. Now that no one is assisting me, “On Saturday, Prakash spoke in front of key officials.

He claimed that around a year ago, he was listed as “dead” in documents, and that when he attempted to take his elderly pension, he was informed that he had passed away.

Even the money I received in my bank account from a sugar mill for my cane could not be withdrawn, he claimed.

According to Tilhar Tehsildar Gyanendra Singh, the situation has come to his attention and a team will be sent to Om Prakash’s village to investigate. He stated, “If he has been listed as deceased in records, they will be corrected, and appropriate action will be taken against those responsible.”
