Asia Cup 2022: ‘Maaro mujhe’ meme fame Met Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya after India-Pakistan clash

In their opening match of the 2022 T20 Asia Cup, contested on August 28 at the Dubai International Stadium, India prevailed over Pakistan (Sunday). The Men in Blue defeated their bitter opponents by five wickets thanks in large part to the contributions of former Indian captain Virat Kohli and talented all-rounder Hardik Pandya.

Both Kohli and Pandya met Momin Saqib, of the “Maaro Mujhe” meme fame, after the game. Momin gained notoriety when one of his films went popular on social media following Pakistan’s defeat by India in the 2019 World Cup. The influencer thanked both players for their outstanding play.

After Pakistan’s defeat, Virat Kohli comforts Saqib, saying, “Yeh ta chalda rehnda.”
Saqib posted two videos to his official Instagram account in which he can be seen speaking Punjabi to the Indian players. Saqib spoke to Kohli, “Yeh ta chalda rehnda (These things happen, glad to see you),” to which the latter replied, “Aaj thoda sad hainge lekin koi ni final katthe khedange (I am a little today but no worries, we’ll play the final together).”

Saqib and Pandya could be seen conversing in another video that he posted on social media. “Congratulations on making a comeback after winning the IPL, and you also gave a great performance today. Saqib greeted Hardik and remarked, “Good to see you. Inshallah, we will meet in the finals.
