On Tuesday, four people were detained for reportedly trying to sell a Nagamai stone and a goddess Durga idol valued Rs 1 crore and promising fortune if maintained inside the home.

The idol and stone have been taken by police. B Devender, T John, Prem Chand Gupta, and Mohammad Ashraf, all of whom dwell in the old city, have been named as the arrested individuals.

Devender bought the “Nagamani stone” from a dealer in Mumbai, according to Anjani Kumar, Commissioner of Police (CP), Hyderabad City, and had kept it in his home in Hyderabad for the last three years.

Later, after becoming friends with John and other people, he told them about the priceless Nagamani stone and they told him about the idol they each owned, which they said would make them all a fortune if sold along with the stone.

All four were apprehended on Tuesday while attempting to sell the stone and the idol. They appeared in court and were ordered to remain in judicial detention.

There is an investigation going on. (ANI)
